Terms & Conditions

We have established the following terms and conditions for our services:

 

**1. Introduction**

Welcome to Durango Driving School. By using the services we provide through our driving school, you agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions.

**2. Payment**

   – **2.1** Lessons/Drive test are subject to availability and requires payment as outlined on our website or in our brochures.

   – **2.2** Payment must be cleared before the booked date. A cancellation fee applies as detailed below.

   – **2.3** All fees are non-refundable except as outlined in our refund policy.

**3. Cancellation and Rescheduling**

   – **3.1** A $30 cancellation fee will be charged if less than 24 hours’ notice is given.

   – **3.2** A full fee will be charged if no cancellation is made.

   – **3.3** We encourage clear communication regarding cancellations and rescheduling. Exceptions to the cancellation policy may be considered based on extenuating circumstances.

**4. Driving Lesson Requirements**

   – **4.1** A valid learner’s permit or overseas licence must be presented upon request by the instructor. Failure to do so may result in the instructor refusing the lesson or test.

**5. Client Responsibilities**

   – **5.1** Clients must be reachable prior to a driving lesson or drive test, so the instructor can confirm the meeting point.

   – **5.2** If the client is not present or reachable within 15 minutes of the lesson’s start time, the lesson will be forfeited, full amount will be charged. 

5.3 Driving lessons will commence at the booked time. If the client arrives late, the lesson will not be extended or rescheduled, as the instructor has other scheduled appointments. The client is responsible for ensuring they arrive on time.

– **5.4** It is essential to confirm instructor availability before scheduling a driving test with VicRoads.

– **5.5** Clients must arrive at least 20 minutes early for scheduled VicRoads practical driving tests with all required documentation.

**6. VicRoads Requirements**

   – **6.1** Clients must ensure all VicRoads requirements are met on the day of the practical driving test, including presenting the required documentation.

   – **6.2** Failure to meet these criteria or present the necessary documentation may result in the test being rejected by VicRoads. In such cases, the client will not be entitled to a refund from VicRoads or from the driving school.

**7. Required Documentation for VicRoads Practical Driving Test**

   – **7.1** On the day of your VicRoads practical driving test, please ensure you have the following documents and items:

     – Learner Permit Card

     – VicRoads appointment receipt

     – Valid Learner Permit Test & Hazard Perception Test (HPT) documents

     – Corrective eyewear, if applicable

     – Log book, if applicable

   – **7.2** If you do not possess a Learner Permit Card, please ensure you have the following documents with you:

     – Passport

     – Overseas Licence

     – Proof of Address

     – Bank Card

     – Additionally, refer to the list of required documents mentioned above.

**8. Safety and Liability**

   – **8.1** The driving school will take all reasonable precautions to ensure a safe learning environment.

   – **8.2** Students are required to follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor.

   – **8.3** The driving school is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or other losses incurred during the course of lessons or Drive test, except where such liability is imposed by law.

**9. Personal Data**

   – **9.1** The driving school will collect personal data as necessary for the purpose of providing driving instruction and will handle such data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

   – **9.2** Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without consent unless required by law.

**10. Refund Policy**

   – **10.1** Refunds, when applicable, are processed to the client’s bank account. Requests for refunds must originate from the email used for booking for security reasons and not via phone call.

**11. Package Terms**

   – **11.1** All prepaid packages are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase and must be completed within this period.

   – **11.2** Packages are non-transferable between clients.

**12. Fines and Penalties**

   – **12.1** Any fines, penalties, or charges incurred due to traffic violations during the driving lessons will be the sole responsibility of the student.

   – **12.2** The driving school will transfer any such fines or penalties to the student’s name, and it is the student’s responsibility to pay these fines promptly.

   – **12.3** The driving school will provide documentation of any transferred fines to the student for their records.

**13. Zero Alcohol Policy**

**13.1**To ensure the safety and effectiveness of driving lessons, all students are required to be free of alcohol and any other impairing substances during their lessons. 

**13.2**This includes a strict policy that students should not consume alcohol within 24 hours before their scheduled lesson. 

**13.3**The driving instructor reserves the right to refuse to conduct a lesson if they believe the student is under the influence of alcohol or any other substances. Any such refusal will not entitle the student to a refund or reschedule of the lesson.

**14. Changes to Terms**

   – **14.1** The driving school reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will be communicated to students and will apply to any future bookings.
